The Year 6 team (led by Miss Mullaly and Mr Dack) are delighted to be part of your child's learning experience as they enter Year 6 and move towards the end of their time with us at Oldfield Park Junior School. We are here to support your children and you as parents in any way possible. Term One - Who Were The Vikings?
Join us as we investigate the Viking civilisation. Who were they? Where did they come from? What impact did they have on the British Isles and the rest of Europe? Over the next few terms we will be deepening our understanding of these fascinating people - were they really as bad as they were made out to be?

Term 1 Spellings:
Find below the spellings for this term. As part of the children's homework, they will be required to learn as many of the spellings as they can. The left hand column contains common high-frequency spellings from prior year groups. The right hand column contains Year 5 and 6 spellings. There will be a spelling "quiz" ever Friday featuring six words from each column. If your child struggles with spellings, help them to concentrate on the words in the left column - we would like everyone to score at least 6 every week.
Spelling scores can help support our judgements regarding and assessing the children's writing at the end of the school year.
